Collin Smith’s passion for welding, community, and finding purpose continues to inspire opportunities for others. In a recent episode of WP Cares, his father, Charles Smith, shares Collin’s story and the mission behind the Collin E. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Following Collin’s passing, his family sought a meaningful way to honor his life. That desire became a commitment to helping students pursue skilled trades—with financial support and people beside them who believe in their future.

In the interview, Charles discusses how scholarships, mentorship, and life coaching work together to help young people find direction. Financial assistance can open the door to education, while encouragement and guidance can help students move forward with confidence.

Charles also shares how faith, family, fitness, and finance shape the program’s approach to supporting future trades professionals and leaders. These foundations reflect a mission that reaches beyond career preparation to help students build purposeful lives.

We’re grateful to Whitley Penn for sharing this conversation and helping more people discover the heart behind Collin-Strong.
